COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES (bottom)

In the lower part of the view, you can see the historical data on moat ratings dating back to 2003. Whereas the moat percentiles force rank the moat scores into a scale of 0 to 100, moat ratings identify the true opportunity for a competitive advantage to be built. Each rating ranges from -1 to 5, where a company must score at or above the 65th percentile across the set of attributes defining that moat. A company’s Total Moat (TM) score ranges from -9 to 45. Thus, a company with a moat percentile rank of 99% and a TM of 29 still has substantial opportunity to build a stronger competitive advantage.
